History

The 1970's and the 1980's

By the beginning of the 1970 decade, the development of a full range of earthmoving products was complete. The selection of machines, tools and equipment for the different market sectors was one of the largest worldwide.
In 1970  BEN MULTIWORKS 140, the first crawler loader with rotating tower, was presented: it was an innovative solution that would subsequently picked up by the Japanese producers.
In 1975, BEN 2000 was released, and it was an absolutely new product for the market: it was the first 4-wheel drive backhoe loader with all wheels of the same diameter.

In 1981, BEN 910 came out as the largest excavator ever produced in Italy, weighting 102 tons. In those years Benati Spa was also the only Italian producer of hydrostatic crawler loaders electronically controlled. Benati was also involved in the limited-scale production of special machines for railroad works, trash compacting, works in blast furnaces of steel mills, moving of wooden material and ferrous waste, special tunnel works, excavations and pile driving.
